So far it has been the coldest November ever. With that in mind I just have to continue working outdoors. I don´t mind, I know how to dress in these conditions.
Today I went to a site near a river. I have not been there before but the job was pretty easy, I´ve done it a thousand times. After parking my car I went out getting my gear ready. I had my iPod and I was “singing”…. now that would scare the devil himself…..
Suddenly I heard some noise from the river, like ice breaking. I stopped singing and I saw three otters.

“Dude, where is my camera????”.
I turned from ” Ivar-at-work” to ” Ivar-Ivrig-a-photographer-wannabe” in fractions of a second. Mounting my 500mm lens onto my camera I started shooting. But even with a 500 the distance was on their side.
Now my seven years in the Norwegian Army finally came in use. Even though I was a technician I learned how to sneak upon an enemy, but today I was armed with a Nikon and three otters were my “enemy”.
Lucky for me they were busy eating a great fish.

So it was easy shooting photos.
I wanted to get closer so I prepared myself to get into the cold river and across the ice.
BUT just as I was about to dive in to the ice cold water they spotted me and disappared.

Well, anyway, it was a memorable day![]()

Fredensborg Palace is a palace located on the eastern shore of Lake Esrum (Esrum Sø) in Fredensborg on the island of Zealand(Sjælland) in Denmark. It is the Danish Royal Family’s spring and autumn residence, and is often the site of important state visits and events in the Royal Family. It is the most used of the Royal Family’s residences.
At the end of the Great Nothern war King Frederick IV asked architect Johan Cornelius Krieger, royal gardener to the court at Rosenborg Castle, to build him a small pleasure palace on the site of a farmyard named Østrup. Krieger built the French-inspired baroque palace from 1720 to 1726, and the King himself took an active part in the planning of the building and grounds, and followed construction closely. The man responsible for the actual construction was General Building Master Johan Conrad Ernst, who was also responsible for the construction of Frederiksberg Castle.
The name ‘Fredens Borg’ means in english ‘The Palace of Peace’.

Klampenborg in Copenhagen is a great place to be. It is a wonderful recreation park and you can walk/run/cycle among deers. I love being there and will return next year.

This is from Gulskogen Gård in Drammen. Up to 1793 a farmer called Hans Hansen Gulskogen lived here. When he died the farm was bought by the Arbo family and in few years they rebuildt the farm with inspiration from England and Denmark.
Today the farm is part of Drammen Museum. It is worth visiting, the buildings and the park are wonderful.

This is from a trip me and my friend Mr. Studio Natura took last winter. We had a cold night, below -10℃, but we did enjoy it afterall. With a camp fire and warm sleeping bags we kept warm, and when the light was “perfect” I got this shot. As for the post below, this was a memorable trip. A picture stops a moment from running away.

This is a picture from Klampenborg in Denmark. I didn´t notice it before, until now three months later, but there is a calf in the picture. Just right behind the two adults there is a little one almost hidden in the grass.

A shot from a beautiful small town i Germany called Hann. Münden, short for Hannoversch Münden. Inhabitants still generally refer to their own town as Münden. This town is located south of Hannover, between Kassel and Göttingen.
Some of the houses here are over 600 years old. And all are very well maintained. A wonderful place to visit.
